Booking is easy. Offers are complete. Searching is good. Conditions are good especialy in regards to possible cancellings free of charge. Only negative are the so many different rules per hiring company. F.i. On Gran Canaria, we had to reserve EURO 750,-. from our credit card at Hetz, though we booked at EasyTerra "no risks, all inclusive". This amount was immediately blocked on our account sothat we could not have our full credit card credit to our disposal. This ment that if we should have any doubtful damage, they would charge us, and we would settle this afterwards with Easy Terra. Is this right?

I always use EasyTerra when renting a car abroad.

Everything is always handled smoothly. Even when I once had to cancel a car that I had already booked. I especially like that you can buy deductible-free coverage, which is much more cost-effective than doing so directly with the rental company.

Peculiar

Nobody to walk around the car with you before you leave. The same when you return the car. You pay a full tank upfront and you leave it with fuel in. So don't fill up as this is uneconomical unless you want to sit in the car every day.

Damage claim in progress

Have been using EasyTerra for the last couple of years and have been very impressed. Prices have been great, and bookings have run smoothly. In the last month I had needed to file a Damage claim through the service (I had rented with the Worry free option). So far that process has been moving very slowly without much communication from the other end. Hopefully I will have this resolved soon, and I would change my review to 5 stars.

Introduction

Puerto Rico (not to be confused with the country Puerto Rico) is a purpose-built holiday resort for tourists on Gran Canaria. The boulevard runs directly along the beach. Puerto Rico is mainly a resort for families with children.

Population

As Puerto Rico was purpose-built for tourists, there are few permanent inhabitants: only about 3,000 people live here.

Location

Puerto Rico is located on the southwestern coast of Gran Canaria, at the end of highway GC-1 (Autovía Las Palmas-Puerto Rico). In the vicinity, you can visit charming places like the fishing village of Arguineguin and the picturesque Puerto de Mogan.

Economy

The resort is built for tourists and so there's only one source of income: tourism.

Airports

Gran Canaria Airport is situated 50 car kilometers northeast of Playa del Inglés. It's easily reachable by rental car, as the airport lies directly along the main road GC-1 which runs from Puerto Rico, via other popular seaside resorts on the south coast, to the capital Las Palmas. The exit to the airport is clearly signposted.

Public Transport

Public transport is good, both in Puerto Rico and to other places on Gran Canaria. There are good connections with, for example, Playa del Inglés and Las Palmas, Gran Canaria's capital.

Traffic and Parking

In summer months it's busy in Puerto Rico, but it's a modern town geared towards tourists. You'll have no problem finding your way around or finding a free parking place. A rental car is an ideal means of transportation if you want to see more of Gran Canaria besides sun, sea and beach. Discover the small inland villages like Cruz de Tejeda. Bear in mind though that the inland mountain roads are narrow and winding.

Hotels

Besides the places of entertainment and shops, Puerto Rico consists exclusively of hotels, holiday resorts and apartment buildings. There's therefore an enormous choice of accommodations, but we still advise booking your hotel room well in advance, especially during summer months, as it's one of the most popular seaside resorts on Gran Canaria.
